6/1/20 - 15/1/20 (Week 1 - Week 2) Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Information Design Exercises LECTURE NOTES Lecture 1: Quantifying and visualizing data 6/1/20 - 8/1/20 (Week 1) In our first week, we were given a briefing of the subject as well as the first exercise, which was to learn how to quantify and visualize data by using buttons or LEGO bricks. Lecture 2: L.A.T.C.H. 13/1/20 - 15/1/20 (Week 2) During the second week, we were taught the how to apply the L.A.T.C.H. principles when organizing information. INSTRUCTIONS EXERCISE Quantifying and visualizing data (Week 1) For this exercise, we used LEGO bricks of different colors and sizes, and arranged them on paper in a way that could be quantified and visualized. I was given a set of yellow and orange LEGO bricks and I had to figure out a way to arrange them, so I first took note of how many there were for each size; I counted them by the number of studs on the bricks. 25/10/19 - 29/11/19 (Week 9 - Week 14) Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Digital Photography & Imaging Final Project LECTURE NOTES Final Project For this project, we are to create a dystopian/utopian "futurescape" by using separate elements from other images to create a landscape of our own, in a way that depicts our vision of what the future could look like. The final image is then to be animated on After Effects as well. INSTRUCTIONS FINAL PROJECT I started off with sketches of the ideas I had in mind. My ideas mainly revolved around the idea that an apocalyptic event caused the urban areas of the planet to decline and deteriorate, and subsequently, nature had begun to take over once more. The imagery would essentially consist of dilapidated buildings and other urban elements being covered in greenery, as well as oversized trees and other sorts of plants in the background. The end result is meant to be surreal but believable. We are to then animate the image as well, on Adobe After Effects. INSTRUCTIONS PROJECT 2: SURREALISM I started off with drawings of the kind of ideas I had in mind, and I showed these to Mr Martin. After going through these with me, he approved the 'goose + megaphone' idea for me to go ahead with. Fig. 1.1: Sketches (1) Fig. 1.2: Sketches (2) Fig. 1.3: Sketches (3) I began by searching for a picture of a goose (or geese) that I can use as the main subject of the picture. I wanted the posture of the animal to show that it was already making a noise, so that when I Photosho...
