Final Project: Animated Infographic
Week 1 - Week 7
Our final assignment is a group project that we were to work on for the duration of the semester. We were shown a list of topics and based on the topic that was given to us, we were to make an animated infographic for it, complete with sound and voiceover. My group consisted of Kyra (leader), me, Mia, Jing Wen and Farissa, and the topic given to us was "Water."
INSTRUCTIONS
Final Project
We spent the first two classes brainstorming and narrowing down the topic to something we can work with. We decided to go with "water pollution" as the general topic of the infographic and began researching. We also figured out our group roles:Kyra - Storyboard and animation
Me - Designing assets and animatics
Mia - Designing assets
Farissa - Research and animation
Jing Wen - Sound and voiceover
Although we each had our defined roles, we contributed to everything else in some way as well. By week 2 we'd done the majority of our research, and we began writing the narration for the video. This took some time as we had to figure out how to fit it into the 3-minute timeframe. A copy of our research can be found here:

By week 3, Kyra had finished the storyboard, and based on that, I designed the animatics on Illustrator, which Jing Wen animated and added the voiceover to.

By week 5, Mia and I began working on the assets for the final animation. I drew the first half of assets while Mia drew the second. We also maintained a Google Drive folder of all our work for the project.

We then handed over the work to Kyra and Farissa to finish animating. Once that was done, Jing Wen added the sound and voiceover.

FEEDBACK & REFLECTIONS
Week 1
Mr Shamsul helped us figure out which direction we should go with our project and with helping us decide on a target audience for it. We did a lot of research on the topic this week and learned quite a bit.
Week 2
Mr Shamsul was really happy with our moodboard and allowed us to move forward without making too many adjustments. Figuring out the art style for our animation was a fun experience, as we had to find a way to keep it consistent without being too complicated to animate.
Week 6
We didn't get much feedback beyond that. We struggled with time in the last few weeks as most of the class had only just come back from the Japan trip, but we managed to get it done on time. Overall, this was a good experience and I think our team did quite well.
