25/10/19 - 29/11/19 (Week 9 - Week 14) Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Digital Photography & Imaging Final Project LECTURE NOTES Final Project For this project, we are to create a dystopian/utopian "futurescape" by using separate elements from other images to create a landscape of our own, in a way that depicts our vision of what the future could look like. The final image is then to be animated on After Effects as well. INSTRUCTIONS FINAL PROJECT I started off with sketches of the ideas I had in mind. My ideas mainly revolved around the idea that an apocalyptic event caused the urban areas of the planet to decline and deteriorate, and subsequently, nature had begun to take over once more. The imagery would essentially consist of dilapidated buildings and other urban elements being covered in greenery, as well as oversized trees and other sorts of plants in the background. 04/10/19 - 18/11/19 (Week 6 - Week 8) Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Digital Photography & Imaging Project 1: Surrealism LECTURE NOTES Project 2: Surrealism For this project, we are to choose an image as a main subject and change part of it using elements from another image to create a surrealist photo. The end result is meant to be surreal but believable. We are to then animate the image as well, on Adobe After Effects. INSTRUCTIONS PROJECT 2: SURREALISM I started off with drawings of the kind of ideas I had in mind, and I showed these to Mr Martin. After going through these with me, he approved the 'goose + megaphone' idea for me to go ahead with. Fig. 1.1: Sketches (1) Fig. 1.2: Sketches (2) Fig. 1.3: Sketches (3) I began by searching for a picture of a goose (or geese) that I can use as the main subject of the picture. I wanted the posture of the animal to show that it was already making a noise, so that when I Photosho...

30/10/19 - 13/11/19 (Week 10 - Week 12) Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Typography Final Project LECTURE NOTES Troublemakers' Manifesto protest placard 30/10/19 (Week 10) The duration of this class went to designing a protest placard for the upcoming Troublemakers' Manifesto: A Design Colloquium event. The placard is meant to display our own manifesto for design; our individual belief about "design" and "society" and its purpose. The manifesto will later be used as our message for our final project assignment as well. Our placard was to be designed on a cardboard or corrugated board of roughly A2 size. We were asked to use black ink to write our manifesto and to hold up the board using a recycled broom stick or similar material. Our manifesto was also to be approved by Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul before proceeding with the design. For my manifesto, I had three options in mind: 1. "A WORLD WITHOUT DESIGN IS A WORLD WITHOUT PURPOSE" 2. ...
