Experiential Design - Exercises

Image
Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Experiential Design EXERCISES Week 1 This week we went through a brief introduction of the module, the kind of work we would be doing and the process of installing Unity on our computers Week 2 In this week's class we went through an introduction on Unity and its basics, and tried creating our first AR object. First, we opened up a new project in Unity, selected the platform we were building for and set up the project. Next, we added Vuforia into the project to get the AR to work.  Then we added the ARCamera game object in and added the Vuforia license. Afterwards, we added the image that we wanted to use for the AR project into the Vuforia database we were using for this project.  After adding this database to our Unity project, we imported the image into the project and created a 3D object (in this case a cube) above it. We then tested to see if the cube was visible on our cameras when it detected the image. Afterwards we added some animation to...

Application Design II - Exercises

Image
Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Application Design II EXERCISES Week 1 Was not present for this week as I was still confirming my modules during Module Add/Drop. Referred to a classmate and was told that the week's exercise was a refresher on HTML/CSS by creating a portfolio website for ourselves. Week 2 This week we were tasked to recreate an app page provided by Mr Razif in HTML/CSS. We were given this page in Figma and asked to recreate it using HTML/CSS. In my first attempt I had trouble making the page responsive so I set it to be static and created the page at a fixed mobile size. Week 3 This week we worked some more on the previous exercise in class. After a few more attempts I was able to make the page responsive, but I chose to set a max width for the page as a full desktop-sized screen would make the main band image quite large with the code I wrote. I'll experiment some more to make the page more usable on a desktop screen. Week 4 This week we were introduced to JavaSc...

Minor Project - HealthCamp

Image
Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Minor Project MINOR PROJECT Week 1 In the first week, we sorted ourselves into our respective groups for our projects. In my case, my project was a fitness app named Healthify, and our group's task was to work with the business and computing teams to develop a prototype for the app based on they specifications given to us in the brief. During week 1, we met the members from business and computing, and had an ice breaking session to share our contact details and plan ahead for the project. Reflections:  When the groups were finalized I was a bit unsure if it would be efficient to have just one UX student for a project where the final brief is an app prototype, but we had to balance out members for all the groups so we had to make do with what we could. Afterwards, we met the other groups involved in the project and introduced ourselves. We learned what each group would be in charge of and agreed to set up a group chat to discuss what we would be doing n...

Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Advanced Interactive Design Final Project: AR Filter with Promotion Page FINAL PROJECT: AR FILTER WITH PROMOTION PAGE For our final project, we were to develop an AR filter for a famous brand along with a microsite to promote it. I decided to create one for Nike, advertising their NikeID (now known as Nike By You) products, by creating a randomizer for one of their shoes. Demo video of website and AR filter:

Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Advanced Interactive Design Project 2: Spark AR Filter PROJECT 2: SPARK AR FILTER In this project we were to develop a Spark AR filter. I decided to design a set of interactive face masks. I intended for them to be animated when you interacted with them, but I wasn't able to make it work properly in time.

Games Studies - Exercises

Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Games Studies Exercise: Game Reviews EXERCISE 1: PERSONAL GAME HISTORY For this exercise we were to present a timeline of our own history of playing games. I made a small infographic, which can be found here: EXERCISE 2: GAME REVIEWS Our exercise for Games Studies was to play a few different games of our choosing and to review them.  1. Celeste 2. Monster Hunter: World 3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Games Studies - Project: Tabletop Game

Ahmed Yaman Ibrahim (0341119) Games Studies Project: Tabletop Game PROJECT: TABLETOP GAME A link to the full game design document is available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F4yrxdI1chQhkSKyXdE-TiNHVZL1UQKS/view?usp=sharing Our project was to develop a tabletop game using Tabletop Simulator; we were given free rein on what kind of game to develop as long as it was playable as an actual tabletop-style game. We were split into groups with group names; my teammates were Tengku and Carter and, on a whim, we decided to name our group Mushroom. After bouncing a few ideas off each other, we developed a general plan for the game based on Tengku's initial idea, found below: Version 1 (11/4/2021) The original idea for Condottieri was a 2-player strategy game where the main objective was to take down the opponent’s army of units. It was set on a hexagonal board with key positions that would provide a tactical advantage to the player who captures them. Players would place their regime...
